The park, a green connection

The Parco della Media Valle del Lambro is a PLIS (Parco Locale di Interesse Sovracomunale, that is a Park concerning and extending over many municipalities) of about 300 hectares along the river Lambro, among the municipalities of Brugherio, Cologno Monzese and Sesto San Giovanni. This Park is an important connection in the green system of the metropolis: north, through the lands of Cascinazza, the park is connected to the center of Monza and to Villa Reale; south it borders the new quarter in Via Adriano and is connected with the center of Milano through the Martesana Canal. West it reaches the Parco Nord through the Falck area and east, through the Martesana Canal, it is connected to the Parco Est Cave. It represents the green connection in a double system comprising the centers of Milan, Monza, Sesto San Giovanni, Brugherio and Cologno Monzese as well as the Parks in north Milan. The above mentioned system also includes the Park of Monza which has a significant territorial surface of about 3000 hectares.
