Canoe         Great Interest: Panorama
  • Duration: 3 hour/s
  • Difficulty Level: E - Hiking (level)

The river Vara springs from the slopes of Mt. Zatta (1,404m), in the Ligurian Apennines, and runs for about 58 km across narrow valleys rich in forests and short flat stretches within the Park, to the confluence with the river Magra. Along its route, it meets several tributaries like Ruschia and Gottero. Its clear and clean waters run across forests and rocky walls forming bends, gorges, and beaches where you can spend exciting moments and practice outdoor activities. Along river Vara you can practice canoeing or rafting in various stretches from Varese Ligure to the confluence with the river Magra; the most interesting stretches for canoes are indicated by panels at the landing points. In the area, there are several associations and tour guides that can help you to spend an adventurous day.
