Inhabiting the river again

The Parco dei Mulini extends over 500 hectares in the territory of the upper region near Milano: it is an area for agricultural use close to the water courses which has not been built yet. The river Olona, which crosses all the involved towns, the Villoresi canal crossing the river Olona, part of the stream Bozzente all have a fundamental role to connect the territories from an ecological point of view. Water courses and territories are an important historical and cultural archive thanks to those elements deriving from human presence, such as The Castle of Legnano (very close to the park), the mills, the former factory Visconti di Modrone, the Farmhouse Lattuada, the Furnace Rancilio, the monastery of the Olivetani.
