From Sella del Telegrafo (516m), panoramic point facing the sea and open on La Spezia Gulf, trail no. 1 leads uphill on the southern slope of Colle Bramapane, whose round top houses the rests of a big military fortress. Trail no. 1 crosses the pass (at 622m) between Bramapane and Verrugoli (from where an interesting link road to trail 3a leading to Montenero Sanctuary leads) and continues along a large and mainly flat dirt road, up to Valico La Croce (637m) from where it becomes a trail again (the dirt road turns right) leading uphill to Mt. Galera. In the following stretch of Costa Galera, trail no. 1 meets at 708m of altitude, trail 02 coming from Groppo-Manarola. Immediately before the crossroads, it passes through the opening of an artificial cave which, if necessary, can give shelter. From the small pass of Mt. Capri at the end of Costa Galera, where specific trail markers lead to a standing stone on the ground on the sea slope, trail no. 1 develops flat along the whole slope of Mt. Capri facing the sea (785m) and afterwards on the slope of Mt. Cuna facing Val di Vara. The trail finds again the sea panorama when it faces the steep downhill stretch. At a milestone with some carvings on it, a trail leads in 10 minutes to the spectacular summit of Mt. Le Croci. From the eastern pass of Marvede to the western pass (end of 7a going downhill to Corniglia) the trail continues, always facing the sea, among ilex trees, Turkey oaks, and scotch brooms. A short flat stretch divides the western pass of Marvede from Cigoletta pass, crossed by no. 7 Vernazza-Riccò.
