From the locality of Termine, the route 591 follows the former path 1 towards Levanto, whereas the AV5T goes on along the ridge towards  Foce Bardellone. The Termine is also the end point of the route 582. The route 591 follows the provincial road 38 for about 2.2 km, reaching the Madonna di Soviore Sanctuary (end point of the route 509); then it passes the Colla di Gritta pass and climbs the pinewood towards Mesco, circumventing the summit of the Molinelli, Rossini and Montenegro Mountains (here there is an area equipped with tables and benches) up to the locality of Colla Bagari, where there are the end parts of the routes 571C, 572, 573 and 588. This mountain pass is a highly panoramic area allowing visitors to observe both the Levanto's coast and the coast of Genoa up to the Maritime Alps, and the Monterosso sea together with the coast of the Cinque Terre on the other side.
Following the main route one circumvents the eastern slope of Mount Focone, going beyond the end of the route 571 branching off from the right side. Soon one reaches the panoramic point of Mesco, near the ruins of the Sant'Antonio Hermitage (IX century AD), which has been recently renovated, and a little beyond the "Semaforo": an abandoned semaphore military station. The route 591 goes on from here as a part of the Sentiero Verde Azzurro up to Levanto.
