From the railway station of Riomaggiore reach the starting point of trail SVA going through the pedestrian tunnel and uphill along Via Colombo until the upper part of the village, where there is a Park's information point.
The first signposts mark the crossing of the provincial road where the paved covering of the stream Rio Maggiore ends. The trail runs uphill among gardens and terraced fields, on the side of the stream where alders and black elders grow.
