First day. From S. Benedetto in Alpe one reaches the entrance of the Acquacheta Nature Path near the pause area situated upstream of the village, at the beginning of the road to Tredozio. The first part of the itinerary follows the path called 'Sentiero Natura', leading to the famous waterfall mentioned by Dante in the 16th cantica of Inferno. The hike will be combined with the didactic panels describing the valleys' main features, an interesting opportunity to carry out in-depth analyses. Slowly climbing the path 407, we will soon find the Cà del Rospo bivouac, and a few steps forward the Romiti Mill, testimonies to an ancient settlement in the valley. The path now climbs up to the panoramic point where it is possible to admire the waterfall, and going on we will reach the smaller but not less fascinating waterfall of the stream Lavane.
From here a last rise leads to the Piana dei Romiti, a nice plain surrounded by steep slopes at the foot of the Mount Lavane, whose morphology is due to the ancient presence of a lake which originated following a landslide.
These and other events seem to explain the current course of the Acquacheta and the more than 70-meters-high drop of the stream near the Caduta. The place is made even more fascinating by the presence of a hermitage established by the monks of the San Benedetto Abbey right in this place.
From Romiti our trail goes on along the path 407 and then, after having crossed the stream, along the path 409 which allows us to gain height until we reach Balze Trafossi and Mount di Londa. A little ahead, by the forest road, one turns right along the path 419 we will walk up to the crossroads in the locality called 'Il Crocione'.
Here we will finally reach the Accommodation Point on the left, on a wonderful historical-natural landscape: the Eremo dei Toschi or Eremo di Santa Maria.
4 hours, 11 km long, 546 m difference in height.

Secon day. On the second day it will be necessary to walk the forest road of the previous day in the opposite direction, up to the fork with the path 411A. The descent to the Piana dei Romiti follows a stretch of the forest road and the path 411, until one reaches the Romiti and the Lavone waterfall again. Once reached the Acquacheta panoramic point, one can take the path 429 on the left leading to Poggio dell'Inferno. The wonderful view of the wide pastures will make up for our efforts, a view one will be able to enjoy on both sides of the path and of the ridge between Mount Lavane and Peschiera Pass. Beyond Poggio dell'Inferno one reaches the mountain pass following the forest road with path marker 555. From Peschiera Pass one goes on along the path 555 which will lead hikers to the ridge between the Montone basin and the Lamone one, from which one will be able to admire the Gamogna Hermitage, not far from these places, and the upper valley of the Acerreta stream. Once reached Cozzo del Diavolo one climbs down up to the Tramazzo's forest road, along the path 553, and going on towards Mount Collina one reaches Poggio Gurioli. From here one takes the path number 561, through which one reaches the Nature Path of Lago di Ponte and the second accommodation point of our ring-route, that is the Casa Ponte Mountain Hut.
5.5 hours, 15 km long, 640 m difference in height.

Third day. On the third day it will be necessary to reach Colla del Tramazzo again, by way of a stretch of the Nature Path. Once reached the forest road with path marker 553 one will follow the road towards Mount Collina, but after a few hundred meters one takes the path 415 leading to the departure point through a pleasant slope. The first stretch of the path is in the shade of the beeches, but later it offers us incredible views of San Benedetto in Alpe.
Going on almost up to the road, one turns left reaching the most ancient core of San Benedetto, namely Il Poggio, which includes the ruins of one of the most ancient benedictine abbeys established around the year 1000 by Saint Romuald, father of the Order of the Camaldolesi. After the visit to the church and to the ancient crypt one will be able to reach the lower part of the village and, from here, the departure point.
3.5 hours, 8 km long, 414 m difference in height.

Involved structures: Eremo dei Toschi (first day), Casa Ponte mountain hut (second day).
