San Marco in Lamis

It is one of the most famous caves of Gargano. According to the popular legends, it is bigger and deeper than its real size. The cave is situated at the edges of the homonymous mountain, surrounded by Difesa di San Matteo woodland. The cavity starts with a short outdoor tunnel leading to a large collapsed cave and to underground passages and halls.

• Equipment: sports clothes, long trousers, trekking shoes, electric torch or head lamp.
