Parco Nazionale Gran Paradiso

In December 2012 the Park turned ninety. The Gran Paradiso National Park volume is connected to this anniversary with the aim of divulging the themes linked to this important institution that, since its foundation, has marked the history, the environmental and tourist culture of the Valle d'Aosta and Piedmont. However it should not be forgotten that the birth of the first Italian natural park is inscribed in a historical moment in which the sensitivity for natural and cultural beauties was in great turmoil all over the world and that its constitution has deeply influenced the diffusion, at every level and to the present day, a new and more aware sensitivity towards the environment and nature. The work, in which Michele Ottino, Bruno Bassano, Laura Poggio and Luigino Jocollé collaborated, is extensively illustrated with historical and naturalistic images of the Park's archive and is divided into five parts:
- the history of the Park which, as mentioned, is in its ninetieth year of life; the Park today; the stories of the rangers of yesterday and today; (edited by Nicola Alessi)
- a memory of Luciano Violante dedicated to his experience as a "friend of the Park";
- the presentation of the flora and fauna of the Park through scientific dissemination sheets (edited by Mattia Alessi).
