Coming out from Campotosto, towards the south-east (Le Capannelle), follow the lake crossing S.P. 577, until the trail enters the wood to go around the Ridge of Monte di Mezzo.
Once you reach loc. "Il Coppo", a junction will lead you back to the lake to take the trail which, after Rio Fucino, goes down to Tottea.
