In "Paolo Barrasso" Visitor Center there is a Museum with two sections, one dedicated to naturalistic features and the other dedicated to archeology. In the former, on the ground floor, you can observe a showcase dedicated to the geology and fossils of Majella, as well as reconstructions of the habitat of the Otter and the environments of Valle dell'Orfento: beech wood, cliffs, Mugo pine wood.
The archaeological section of the Museum houses several finds discovered in the northern section of Majella, from the lower Paleolithic to the Roman period; this section, situated on the upper floor, is accessible to blind or visually impaired people.
Annexed to the structure, the wildlife area dedicated to the European Otter and a conference hall, both accessible to people with disabilities.
The Center is an ideal departure point for hikes in Valle dell'Orfento and to San Giovanni Hermitage, as well as in the whole north-western area of the Park.
More detailed information, guidebooks, brochures, and maps of the hiking trails can be found on the spot. In the structure there are also a library and an educational workshop. It is adjacent to "Casa del Lupo", the new Park scientific center with guest house
