Did you know that owls do not have visible ears? Why can birds fly? Have you ever wondered why a rock ptarmigan can survive at a temperature of -50°C?

Birds can be found everywhere on earth, they have been able to adapt themselves to different habitats and resist in the most inhospitable places. In the world there are about 10,350 known species, different one from the other for behavior and survival strategies.
Visiting the exhibit area of Avimundus, it will be possible to better understand the fascinating world of the sky inhabitants. The heart of the exhibit consists of a collection of over 150 stuffed specimens, divided according to the ecosystem they belong to, their behavior (migratory or wintering birds), the nesting biology (nidicolous, ninifugous, or guests), and their family.
Multimedia points reveal the technical and secret aspects of flight. At the visitors' disposal a small but rich library and an interesting collection of videos on birds and protected areas.

Opening times: From Tuesday to Saturday, from 10.00 a.m. to noon and from 2.00 p.m. to 6.00 p.m. Closed on Mondays, Sundays and on holidays.

Avimundus will be closed from the 18th of October 2015 for the winter pause.
