Parco Nazionale della Val Grande

Excursion in the middle of the national park to famous engravings of the Stone Age, an abandoned lumberjack village and the turquoise Pogallo torrent - with the possibility to jump into these waters! We start from the isolated small village of Cicogna and climb up to the terrace of Prà. From there we will enjoy fantastic views of the wild Val Grande as well as the Lake Maggiore. Then we will enter the dark forests of the national park and reach the beautiful terrace of Pogallo with its little huts. Decades ago it was the center of the wood industry, a real village. Nowadays its the silence that reigns. After our lunch breack at this enchanted place we follow an old mule track through a steep gorge with waterfalls and pools and will arrive at Cicogna in the late afternoon.
