3) TYPICAL FEATURES:
a) coat:
bay, dark bay, blackish
b) structure:

  • Head: profile tending to be straight, but sometimes convex silhouette; only little white hair is admitted.
  • Neck: generally short and rectilinear, with abundant mane.
  • Shoulder: muscular, with a good tilt, sometimes short.
  • Withers: regularly protruding.
  • Back: regular proportions, it can present a light hollow of the back according to the kind of breeding.
  • Hips: large and well attached to the rump.
  • Rump: well-developed, muscular and with a regular tilt.
  • Chest: regular dimensions
  • Thorax: generally large and deep, in harmony with the other parts.
  • Limbs: remarkable skeletal and muscular development, with regularly long and tilting arm, proportionate forearm, strong cannon bone with evident tendons.
  • Articulations: thick and large knee and hock, of right opening, without hard and tender tares.
  • Pace: normal.
  • Plumb-lines: generally regular.
  • Foot: proportionate and sturdy .

d) other features: rural, frugal, resistant to the climatic difficulties; fit for the exploitation of the marginal areas.
e) defects causing the exclusion from the "Registro Anagrafico": lack of uniformity in the coat. Marked left-handedness, long and yielding pasterns, excessively convex silhouette. Cryptorchidism. Prognathism.
