Cascina Park Center

Via Clerici, 150
20099 Sesto San Giovanni (MI)
Municipality: Sesto San Giovanni
Region: Lombardia

From an old abandoned farmhouse to the beating and vital heart of the whole Park, the rural building situated in the central part of the Park, which is its most visited part, represents the real logistic and organization center of the whole system of Nord Milano Park. Since the summer 1993 when the first works of recovery had been completed and when the building was dedicated to Ercole Ferrario, the President who led the first interventions to create the Park, Cascina Park Center has always been the place where all the projects and ideas for the future of the Park are elaborated, where all the work plans to create and manage it leave and become reality.
The old barn and pigpens have been renovated and transformed into workshops, warehouses, and deposits for agricultural tools; the central wings house the offices, the premises for the personnel and for the forest operators, a small hall for planners and designers, while the characteristic porch has been recovered and transformed into a covered area for exhibits, performances, and parties.
Not only a place of work, but also a place of entertainment, especially on summer Saturdays and Sundays.
The old barns have been renovated and inaugurated in 2001, and now house, among the other things, the Visitor Center.
Finally, since 2002, Cascina Park Center houses the stables for a dozen horses of the State Police Service, the result of an inter-institutional agreement among the two administrations, to grant more and more safety to the visitors.
Opening times: The Visitor Center is open on Sundays from March to June, 3.00 p.m.-6.00 p.m.
