Air, Water, Earth, and Wood
If you say it one after the other, these terms may recall the four classical elements mentioned by the ancient Greek philosophers. But if you look at them carefully, there is something wrong: wood. Wasn't it fire? As a matter of fact, we are not talking about philosophy, but about ecology; and not about Ancient Greece or Magna Graecia, but about Orsiera-Rocciavrè Nature Park facing three valleys: Susa, Sangone, and Chisone, and its new Visitor Centers. Orsiera-Rocciavrè Park is going to open 4 welcome centers along the main ways of communication leading to its borders, each one dedicated to a specific issue.
The first Visitor Center opened in 2006: it is Mentoulles Visitor Center, dedicated to forest, trees, and traditional professions linked to the wood.
The second Visitor Center opened in 2007, in loc. Travers a Mont: "Il paradiso delle Rane" (The Paradise of Frogs).
The third Visitor Center will open in summer 2009 at Alpe Pintas in Val Chisone.
