1st International Conference on Genus Cervus 2007

From 14th to 17th September 2007, Fiera di Primiero (TN)

The 1st International Conference on Genus Cervus will be held from 14th to 17th September 2007 in Fiera di Primiero (TN), Trentino, Italy. The conference will be organized by Parco Naturale di Paneveggio-Pale di San Martino, the University of Siena, Servizio Foreste e Fauna della Provincia Autonoma di Trento, and Associazione Cacciatori Trentini.

The aim of the conference is to gather experts in Cervids of the genus Cervus coming from all over the world to present and discuss their latest works.
A good number of research activities has been recently carried out in the fields of genetics, ecology, and behavior of the genus Cervus. Some of these works have not been published yet and their results could lead to interesting discussions. Moreover, the correct management for the conservation or/and hunting of some species of Cervus requires information - possibly original - on their biology. For this reason, participants are invited to present reports on issues linking management and biology of this species.
