The sanctuary is a destination for several visitors: over 2 million people according to 2001 appraisals, a growing trend.
In order to get to the Sanctuary - beyond SS road 374 - you can choose alternative routes, by parking your car in Mercogliano:
- trail 201 (see Map), used by pilgrims since ancient times
- the cable railway of Montevergine, leading to the Sanctuary in 7 minutes.
The cable railway of Montevergine is one of the fastest in Europe, with a difference in height of about 700 meters and slopes of over the 64%.
