Points of Interest

The Park is a reference point for several research activities, in collaboration with the Universities of Turin, Alessandria, and Pavia, while every day the Park Keepers collect data and information about the natural environment, for instance the state of the waters and the wildlife.

The educational-didactic activity is developed and addressed to every kind of school, offering several naturalistic itineraries along which it is possible to study the environment, according to the didactic programs. In the Visitor Centers (Cascina Belvedere and Mulino di Bosco Marengo), there are halls and didactic labs equipped with adequate instruments.
Moreover, the Park is the pivot and the national head office of Istituto di Educazione alla Terra, the Italian branch of the Institute for Earth Education, an international association promoting and planning educational projects addressed to everyone.
School and group activities must be agreed in advance with the Park. There are observation huts which are essential for bird watching and naturalistic photography. It is possible to use the huts by advance booking: for bookings, please contact Cascina Belvedere Visitor Center.

There are eight cycling itineraries "In bici sul Po", signaled in collaboration with the Region. The network, which will soon be only a part of the great cycling itinerary developing along the 235 km of the river in Piedmont, covers the whole Vercellese/Alessandrino section of the Park. Along the routes there are ten picnic and rest areas.

Other Visitor Centers dealing with the issues Earth, Air, and Water and self-guided itineraries which are also suitable for people with disabilities will be available soon. Along the river, guest-houses will be available soon for the visitors who - on foot, by bike, on horseback, or by canoe - want to discover the great natural beauties of the river Po.

And, if you want to know something more before visiting the area, there are several guidebooks and publications for sale, including videos, slides, posters, and postcards, and specific didactic material prepared for students and handed out to the classes.
