The myrtle (Myrtus communis) is an evergreen bushy shrub spontaneously growing in the Mediterranean maquis of our Mountain, often associated to heath and strawberry tree.
It is very branched, can reach also the three meters of height, and its wood is very hard. It is mainly used for works at the wood-turning lathe.
