Motorhomes...

Motorhomes and caravans can freely stop in the parking areas of the Park in Pieve di Trebbio, Casona, Samone, and Casellina (Roccamalatina).
In the above-mentioned parking areas no electricity, water, and drainage are available.

Antica Pieve New Picnic Area

Finding a quiet area where to relax and fully appreciate the Park atmosphere has always been a problem for the visitors of Sassi di Roccamalatina Park. The protected area mainly consists of private properties and, also for a better safeguard, it is necessary to create adequate areas such as picnic area, equipped with tables, benches, and in some cases a barbecue for a good mixed grill.
The last new-born area is "Antica Pieve", adjacent to the parking area of Pieve di Trebbio, between the Park Center and the ancient Romanesque church. The lower ground where the area has been created gives the opportunity to use a space surrounded by the green, at a few meters from the parking area (it will be the favorite one for the laziest tourists), with a beautiful view over the high pinnacles of "Sassi".
The other equipped areas are situated near Mulino della Riva, near the riverbed in Casona di Marano along the Panaro, in Samone and near Rocca di Sopra - an ancient village of the "Sassi" in Roccamalatina.

Guided Visits

Thanks to the Guided Visits service organized by the Park, it is possible to know more about its natural, historical-cultural, and managerial aspects: as a matter of fact, there will be the possibility to admire the main features of the territory, such as the rupestral and fluvial environment, the gullies, the streams, the mixed and wet woods, and the suggestive views from the cliffs of the "Sassi".
They can last one day or half a day, and have different levels of difficulty.

The Park and the Schools

Educational Itineraries
If required by the teacher, thematic guided tours can be organized for schools along the trails of the protected area.

Green Stays
If required by the teacher, more than one-day school tourism programs can be organized in the Park or in the adjacent territories, always respecting the principles of sustainable tourism.

Didactic Proposals
Moreover, the Park suggests several environmental education activities consisting of classroom meetings, lab activities, and exits in the field to be carried out during the school year.
Some proposals aim at drawing the students nearer to the Natural Sciences issues (with reference to the Park) or at the traditions linked to the rural civilization, using the Protected Area as an educational classroom.

Park Structures

"Il Fontanazzo" Park Center
In the ancient farmhouse of Pieve di Trebbio, now Park Center and Environmental Education Center, there are the Permanent Exhibit on the natural heritage of the protected territory; a botanical trail with different vegetal species; a rich naturalistic-historical library and a didactic archive, with lend service; an educational-scientific lab and an auditorium for promotion initiatives.

Borgo dei Sassi Visitor Center (entrance point to the trail leading to the summit of Sasso della Croce, in Roccamalatina - loc. Rocca di Sopra) and the Sala degli Stemmi with the permanent exhibit of the Tigella, in the ancient quarter of Samone, complete the structures of the Protected Area, where it is possible to require information and ask for a wide range of material about the opportunities offered by the Park.
