Molina Aterno Archaeological Area

In Roman and pre-Roman times Molina Aterno was to be a pagus of the city of Superaequum and incorporate a vicus in the fortified centers of Mandra Murata and Colle Castellano, prominent archaeological finds along with the Roman funerary relief carved on stone by a couple of freedmen, at the station train.
Several Latin walled inscriptions are visible in the square and in a private house. Mosaic floors from the Republican period of Rome and a tomb from the 6th century BC have been found in the Valentino field.
