Palazzina di Stupinigi was built as hunting residence according to the
will of Vittorio Amedeo II of Savoia.
It is one of the best
architectonic works of art by Fillippo Juvarra. The complex is
articulated into a series of buildings which have been symmetrically
distributed in order to form a major exedra, a minor one, an opening,
and an hexagonal honour courtyard. In it there is the three-floor
mansion house with an ovoidal plant and decorated by a balustrade with
pinnacles. In the middle of the roof there is a copper and bronze dome
where the statue of a deer (probably by Francesco Ladatte) stands.
