The Tulle Museum in Panicale, dedicated to its founder Anita Belleschi Grifoni, is situated in Piazza R. Margherita in St Augustine Church. Here you can admire ancient manufactured products like altar tablecloths, 11th century coats and reels coming from the Churches of Panicale, but also wonderful items coming from the school Ars Panicalensis: bridal veils, hat-veils, gloves, traycloths and tablecloths, christening clothes, and woman's veils.

The art of embroidering the tulle, also called "Ars Panicalensis", was created by Anita Belleschi Grifoni, who in the 1920s developed a manufacturing technique which drew its inspiration from the traditional Venetian embroidery. She improved such method and established an embroidery school she called "Ars Panicalensis". The school offered many women from Panicale the opportunity to take their first steps towards the economic independence.

This type of embroidery is only handmade, and no machineries are used.
One bastes a double layer made of painted wax paper and package paper, then one realizes the embroidery with a needle and several small nets to create particular effects.
This lace is characterized by flowers, net medallions, paradise birds and baroque decorations.
