Forests and landscapes

The Parco Valentino is situated in the locality Pian dei Resinelli, at an altitude of 1,200 meters above sea level, and it extends over a 110 hectares wide surface in the territories of Lecco and Abbadia Lariana. Owner and Authority of the Park is the Comunità Montana Lario Orientale Valle San Martino, based in Galbiate (LC), Via P.Vasena, 4.
The most visited area is the wide beech forest resulting from a proper forestry management, where it is likely to meet roe deers: for this reason it is required to keep an unobtrusive behavior and to have one's dog on a leash. The distinctive features of the park express themselves both in the forests and in the landscapes, also thanks to its extraordinary panoramic views: the Grignetta Mount and the Lake Como northwards near the Historic House Museum, the Corni di Canzo Mountain Group, the Barro Mount and from the viewpoint southwards and westwards, the Due Mano Mount, the Resegone Mount and the Orobie Alps eastwards from the Park's entrance.
Within the Park there are some buildings: one of them, which is the most important, was a manor house that has been turned into a museum (at the present time, November 2012, it is closed for repairs).
