Ca' Carné Visitor Center covers about 43 hectares, out of which 26 are state-owned area and 17 are rented, on Gessi di Rontana and Castelnuovo, in the Municipality of Brisighella.
It is open every day, free admission.
It can be considered the ancestor of Vena del Gesso Romagnola Park, since it was established in 1973 by the Province of Ravenna, the Municipality of Faenza, and the Municipality of Brisighella, that purchased the lands and called the area "Parco Carné".
The Center offers several facilities for the visitors. The building on the left is where the person in charge of the Visitor Center lives, and houses the info point of Vena del Gesso Romagnola Park and the naturalistic museum dedicated to the wildlife of Vena del Gesso Romagnola, preserving finds of almost all the most interesting animal species living in the Park, including the wolf, the crested porcupine, the Eurasian eagle owl, the peregrine, and the blue rock thrush.
At Ca' Carné, characteristic rural house built after the hill clearance of the 1920s, after which the Visitor Center has been named, there is the mountain hut (Tel. +39 0546 81468), with restaurant and café, as well as some bedrooms (two dormitories and two smaller rooms for families, for a total of about 30 beds).
