The path departs from the parking area situated near the Penna Nera Mountain Hut (mountain hut of the Alpini), which can be easily reached from the village's center in about 15 minutes on foot. To arrive it is necessary to follow the signs to the Tour of the Farms (from the church of Grumes, towards the Farms of Grumes). Once reached the buses' parking area one takes the street on the right. From here one climbs along the paved road up to the locality of Valdonega, where one can find many mountain huts. From the locality of Valdonega one can easily reach the "Lac del Vedes" nature reserve (indicated direction) and the Potzmauer mountain hut.
