The larche's resin, called "largà", was extracted in the Cembra Valley for industrial use (solvents, paints, glues etc...) by drilling the lower part of the biggest trees. Every family had a stock in their home pharmacies, because it was used to pull the wooden splinters out of one's skin, as compress for pimples, abscesses, rheumatism, neuralgia, for inhaling in case of diseases of the breathing apparatus.
