Cicerana Eco-Mountain Hut is 1560m above sea level in the municipality of Lecce nei Marsi. Being located in one of Abruzzo National Park’s
wildest valleys, this is the ideal place to enjoy pristine nature. In the most hidden places of this wonderful area, ancient beech forests survive, such as Selva Moricento, whose oldest trees are 500 years old and have been acknowledged as UNESCO World Heritage. Rare animal species, like the Marsican brown bear, find shelter in this valley.
The mountain hut
The mountain hut has a kitchen, a dormitory with 10 comfortable beds, a bathroom and a spacious living room with stove/fireplace, where guests can have their meals and enjoy the hut’s characteristic atmosphere. The hut is completely energy self-sufficient and is provided with non-drinkable water, electricity (photovoltaic panels) and heating (gas+wood)
Package including dinner, stay and breakfast: €55 in the winter, €45 during the rest of the year
The winter surcharge (beginning of December to end of March) is due to the use of heating. Beverages are considered as extras. This rate does not apply on the night of 31st December.
This is the first attempt to manage an Alpine-type mountain hut in Abruzzo-Lazio-Molise National Park. This means that the hut can be used in the framework of activities organised by Ecotur, but is also available for those wishing to autonomously lunch, dine or sleep at the hut itself. Cicerana Eco-Hut is always open in the summer, while it is advisable to check by phone (0863/912760) in the fall, winter and spring. It is also best to book overnight stays, even in the summer.>>>
