The Mountain Hut

In a harsh alpine environment, the Mountain Hut (2,351m) offers a beautiful view of Mt. Matto chain and of Rocca di Valmiana, along the axis of Vallone di Lourousa. In front of the mountain hut, the north-east wall of Mt. Sella and, not far, Colle del Chiapous, an ideal place to carry out pleasant tours.

Who We Are

Our love for the mountains brought us in this wonderful place. The attention to the needs of hikers is our main quality.
We are simple people who love working freely. Our alarm clock is set early in the morning, since in an isolated mountain hut like ours there's always a lot to do. The structure was built in the 1930s and subsequently enlarged. Situated in the wonderful Vallone di Lourusa, it offers a spectacular view of the northern wall of Mt. Stella (1,000m).

Particular attention is paid to the search for top-quality raw materials.
Our cuisine is linked to tradition and reserves pleasant surprises. Our dishes are prepared with loving care, and there is the possibility to ask for vegetarian and gluten-free menus. Besides the possibility to reach various summits (north or south Argentera, Mt. Stella, Oriol, Cima del Chiapus) and to carry out traverses towards the other Park Mountain Huts, climbers will find several perfectly equipped mountain routes for all levels. If you just want to relax, you will have the possibility to do it together with the wild ibex it is easy to see in the surroundings of the mountain hut.
