Baita Monte Gelas
Situated in the heart of
Alpi Marittime Park, along the route of GTA at 1,250m, Baita Monte Gelas is a refreshment point for the several hikers venturing along the trails crossing San Giacomo di Entracque. Next to the restaurant there is the
Park Mountain Hut, a cosy structure inaugurated in 2008, an ideal destination if you choose a stay at direct contact with nature. Both structures, managed by Gerbino family, meet the needs of both hikers choosing to carry out a day tour without giving up a fine polenta prepared according to the traditional recipe, and the hikers who decide to stop for a few days, since it offers full-board or half-board service.

You should taste our whole-meal polenta, characteristic of the Provençal valleys, prepared with a very secret mix of wheat selected by Renzo. It is patiently prepared every day according to the traditional recipe, cooking it for a long time and mixing it with the wooden stick. It is served with local cheese of Valle Gesso, sausage, the so-called "doba" (Provençal veal stew) or rabbit. In the evening, for the guests of the mountain hut, Michèle prepares dishes enhancing the local seasonal products, and each meal concludes itself with a home-made dessert.

Accommodation
The
Park Mountain Hut is a reference point if you go along GTA. Recently renovated, it offers 22 beds divided into 7 en-suite rooms for two, three, or four persons. To relax, there is the reading hall where you can enjoy a good book in front of the fireplace or in the adjacent spaces surrounded by a wonderful mountain setting.
