This itinerary offers the opportunity to observe the coastal environment of the low seabed, similar to the characteristic environment of the lagoons, with muddy holms called "barene" (shoals), covered with thick formations of halophytes, resistant to salinity.
It is also possible to admire large tidal flats, periodically submerged, called "velme", where many aquatic birds successfully search for food, represented by mollusks, crustaceans, worms, or little fish.
The most characteristic bird species of this area are Curlews, the Eurasian Curlew and the Whimbrel (chosen as symbol of the Nature Reserve for their wild nature and curious aspect) while among plants, together with glassworts, you will find Cordgrass, Sea Asters, and the Sea Lavender with its small flowers which, towards late summer, color of a beautiful violet the wide salty grasslands.
