Riserva Naturale Orientata Isola di Alicudi

The island of Alicudi is the emerged section of a volcanic system developing for over 1,000m under sea level and emerging for 675m. As far as geological and tectonic features are concerned, it is a stratovolcano whose lava flows alternated with scoria eruptions, among which bombs, ashes, and lapilli prevail, and with lava domes (lava which hardened within the crater immediately before the eruption).
