| A pond that has almost entirely silted up, situated on a 1520 meter high glacial terrace, in an area presenting xeric climatic features. The protected area aims to safeguard one of the most important wetlands in the whole Alpine chain, rich in zooplanktonic organisms, vegetal hygrophilous species, and phytosociologic elements. |  |
