Thanks to the passion for malacology of the founding partner Gabriele Sercia, and considering the many mostly unknown beauties accumulating in the drawers, it was decided to share with those who would like to get closer to this world the viewing of these organisms of extraordinary beauty and biological and ecological importance through an exhibition. The Matteo Sercia House-Museum was inaugurated on the 11th September 2010, in collaboration with the Egadi Islands Marine Protected Area and thanks to the commitment of the great malacologist Francesco Pusateri, who placed a range of representatives as wider as possible of the different groups of organisms in every showcase. In the showcases dedicated to the terrestrial malacology there are endemic species from Sicily donated by Dr. Ignazio Sparacio.
