Vicia faba, better known as fava or faba bean, is an annual plant in the family Fabaceae. It is a seasonal colture that gives 15-18 cm long pods, each containing four to six flat seeds. Its production is one of today's most sustainable, thanks to its very small needs in terms of soil and water and to its resistance to parasites and diseases. Seeds must be planted in holes at least 25- 30cm apart in a sunny area.
