The trail leaves from Tivoli, along the climb leading to Don Bosco village; turn right after about 50 meters near two wooden trail markers.
At the beginning, the trail goes under Mt. Catillo, at the top of which there is a big metal cross you can reach by taking a short diversion from the main trail.
Farther on, on the right, there are some abandoned quarries on the side descending to the SS road Tiburtina-Valeria; if you go ahead on the left you will walk along a sports ground. After crossing an open area, climb again and you will get to the Cork Oak woodland.
