An Outcrop of Reddish Basaltic Rocks along the Banks of the Stream Enza
The Reserve protects an important ophiolitic outcrop emerging on the northern side of rio Cerezzola, an affluent of the stream Enza, near the castle of Rossena and not far from Canossa. The rocky and wild aspect, the rare minerals, the typical plants of rocky environments, and the interesting avifauna finding shelter on the walls of the relief are the most important elements of the area.
