The Archaeological Site

The archaeological site is particularly interesting since it used to house a late Neolithic settlement, dating back to 3000 BC and situated at the top of the hill, and its necropolis which was situated in the valley, in the north-east of the village. The necropolis also houses megalithic graves, dolmens similar to those found in the archaeological area of Saint Martin de Corléans, in Aosta. A characteristic tumulus, considered by the archaelogists a grave dating back to the "salassa" age, can be seen at the top of the hill, southwards, facing Jocteau Castle.
