Riserva Naturale Valle del Freddo

Mt. Clemo Nature Ring-Route

  • Trail Conditions: On foot
  • Interest: Panorama, Hystory
  • Departure: ingresso valle del freddo
  • Duration: 3 hour/s
  • Difficulty Level: easy
  • Difference in height: 150m

This route offers to hikers many points of cultural interest and the possibility to enjoy, along the stretch facing the lake, the wonderful panoramic views from S. Defendente Small Church (nearby you can admire the famous glacial boulder situated on the trail leading to S.Rocco di Esmate). The visit to Valle del Freddo Nature Reserve is an opportunity you shouldn't miss above all in May/July, since it is rich in high-mountain flowers spontaneously growing in the biotope. Also the route across the slopes of Mt. Clemo gives the opportunity to admire the panoramic view over the final stretch of Val Borlezza and the picturesque Gaiano small lake. Cerete Solto Collina and Castro, touched by the trail, is characterized by a complex system of dolines and big chestnut tree woods and gives the opportunity to observe the ravine from above and the great delta of Borlezza entirely covered by the metallurgic factory. Along a stretch of the trail, towards Solto Collina, you can see another ravine of Sebino, which is more famous and amazing for its vertical stratifications: Bögn di Zorzino.
