Focusing on a central issue, the "Grandi Sentieri" (Big Trails), their description integrated by photos and cartographic tables, this volume provides information on all the 24 Municipalities forming Roero (environment, history, monuments, points of interest), on the "local" trails (that is the trails within each municipal territory), the "nature sanctuaries" that have been established, the institutions pursuing environmental recovery and scientific observations, the museum collections and, in the end, those features characterizing the whole territory: art, popular traditions, faith and religiousness, flora, etc.
