Old-growth forests, eskers, meadows and pastures

Seitseminen National Park is ideal for day trips or for hikes lasting a couple of days. Longer trips can be extended to for example Riuttaskorpi recreational forest and Helvetinjärvi National Park, on a hiking trail network called Pirkan Taival.
Seitseminen National Park is situated at the Suomenselkä, a rugged watershed region. Forests, mires and eskers alternate in the landscape: the National Park was established to preserve this intricate mosaic. In the set of living organisms in the park, many of the northern species are represented.
