Protected Areas in Georgia
According to the data provided by the World Database on Protected Areas, in Georgia there are 8 National Parks, 23 Nature Reserves, 4 Nature Sanctuaries or Partial Reserves, and 6 Hunting Reserves.
The governmental body dealing with environmental issues is the Ministry of Environment Protection and Natural Resources of Georgia; the bodies dealing with the management of the protected areas are the Department of Protected Areas, as well as some entities of public law.
