Protected Areas in Monaco
The only protected areas in the Principality of Monaco are the Larvotto Marine Reserve (50 ha) and the Red Coral Reserve (1 ha), established in 1976 and 1986 respectively.
The Réserve sous-marine du Larvotto et zone côtière du Portier, designated Ramsar Site in 1997, accounts for 5% of the total area of the country.
