Guided visits
Our tour takes about two hours. We begin by presenting the park and the reasons for its protection. The visit starts at the Stjuža lagoon, the only sea lagoon in Slovenia. We continue to Strunjan saltpans, where we explain their history and their functioning today and in the past. After visiting the lagoon and the saltpans we reach the edge of the cliff in the area of Strunjan Nature Reserve. At the St. Cross we stop for a few minutes to admire the longest stretch of natural coastline in the Gulf of Trieste. We briefly present the vegetation, which includes the strawberry tree (Arbutus unedo) and myrtle (Myrtus communis). While descending we also observe the famous pilgrimage church of St. Mary's Apparition, and we close the tour returning at the Stjuža lagoon. Prices and booking
