The Forest of Camaldoli

To talk about the spiritual, technical and social relationship between the hermit monks of Camaldoli with the forest as ancient as the Appennino tosco-romagnolo - a forest which welcomed them and that they preserved - means to draw our own attention to ten centuries of history, that is from 1012 when the first monks settled here, until 1866, when the Hermitage, the Monastery and the Forest became property of the new State of Italy.

The guesthouse - Accommodation

The Foresteria del Monastero can accommodate up to 154 people, both in single rooms and many-beds rooms with en-suite services, both full-board and half-board accommodation are available. There are two large dining halls holding up to 250 people, where also the set-menus are available.
There are meeting and conference halls, and places where people can pray and meditate. For further information and bookings you can call the number +39 0575 556013, from Monday to Friday, from 8.30 a.m. to half past noon, and from 2.30 p.m. to 6.30 p.m..

The guesthouse - Opening time

- In summer we propose our guests weekly events (conferences) of biblical, liturgical and theological education, of ecumenist and inter religious dialogue and spiritual exercises. At the same time it is possible to make use of the free accommodation, both full-board and half-board.
- In spring and fall the structure is open on weekends to take part to liturgical worship and personal meetings.
- Accommodations available during Lent, Easter, Advent and Christmas for retreats and worship moments.

The Monastery - Inside accomodation

All over the year other kinds of accommodation solutions are available for those who would like to share the life of the monastic community or live a period of spiritual retreat. For these stays it is necessary to ask the monk in charge (Don Matteo Ferrari - view the section "contatti ospitalità")
