Ladispoli Artichoke

The artichoke, symbol and source of pride of the town, was cultivated in the surroundings of Ladispoli already in 1930. At that time, there were above all two artichoke qualities: one was called "Castellammare", a very precocious quality, and the other one was called "Campagnano" which ripened late but had a better aspect, since the artichokes were more closed and had a better color.
