Let's observe the wonders of nature: the mountain beechwood
This itinerary is of great naturalistic interest due to the high value of the botanical presences. In fact the whole area is characterized by a high quality beechwood, with specimens of rare beauty. Furthermore, along the route it will be possible to observe specimens of hornbeam, Turkey oak, mountain maple and sorb. Hiking over the beautiful ancient mule track, once commonly used by the inhabitants of Polino for finding some animal species, now rather rare, such as martens, wildcats and sparrow-hawks. With a little attention, along the trail it is also possible to discover ancient clearings for the charcoal kilns, where the wood was once "cooked" and transformed into vegetable charcoal. This activity was very common in the past in all the Park's area.
