The pond is surrounded by a wide grove of reeds which makes it impossible to see the little stretch of free water, visible only form on high along a path which has been created in the last few years. The rare species are not very visible because they are hidden by the reeds. Near the pond there are two short stretches of dirt road which allows hikers to have a close look at it and a little wooden watchtower.
