Monte Rufeno extra-virgin olive oil derives from the pressing of the olives harvested in the olive groves within Monte Rufeno Nature Reserve. The olive groves are situated in different points of the protected area, near some farmsteads where people used to live until the 1950s-60s, in the hills at an altitude between 400 and 600m above sea-level.
These olive groves have been respecting the organic agriculture specifications since 1990. As a consequence, the product has the organic agriculture certification. As far as organoleptic properties are concerned, the oil has a rather strong aroma, a full taste with a slightly spicy aftertaste, an emerald green color with golden reflections. The acidity does not exceed the 0.4%.
